We thought it might be useful to let you in on which ski and which snowboard we’ve got on our Christmas list this year. So without further adieu… Our ski of the season for both men and women is…. The Rossignol S7 Skis 2012 Model We effing love the new Rossignol S7 2012 skis. They’re not award winners for no reason. Everyone’s talking about the radical style of the new Salomon BBRs, but many forget that the S7s basically have that same radical shape – they just look better and they’re more badass! So what is it that the Salomon BBRs and the Rossignol S7s have in common? Put simply, they’re wider on the tips than they are in the tails, which is much different to what you would normally come to experience with freeride skis in the past. There’s a reverse camber on the tip and tail of this ski, making powder skiing much easier and less tiring, as it lifts the nose of the skis so they don’t sink and creates more sink in the tail helping to put the ski in the optimal position for floating on those powder clouds. The reason we prefer this over the Salomon BBR is that they’re a tad more forgiving. You can throw any type of turn at this ski and it responds perfectly.
