I cannot say enough good things about the 2012 Atomic Crimson Ti Titanium Skis since my discovery of them this season. The new movement in skis is towards what's called the 'One Ski Quiver' and it'll be interesting to see what's available for the 2013 season. One Ski Quiver is the new term given to a few skis now on the market that a handful of brands are releasing, claiming to be truly capable of containing a multiple set of characteristics from a variety of skis built for different skiing conditions. Pah! you cry....and so did we when we heard about this new type of ski. Surely it's not possible?! Many all-mountain skis have, for years, attempted to give us a ski that can hold itself in any condition on any terrain, and some have come quite close - but it's always come with compromises. The Rossignol Backcountry S (my ski of choice for a long while) was, in my opinion, the closest. But they are still crap on ice and short turns require a lot more push in the legs to get into a rhythm on the piste and there's just always a bit of bite missing. All these commonly known compromises with the top all-mountain skis now seems to be a thing of the past - and oh how thrilled we are. The Atomic Crimson have the usual all-mountain wider ski … Continue reading →

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

Nite International Watches - Time for Serious Outdoor Sports Style

Nite International are a small British company with big ambitions. They design, manufacture and distribute their own unique make of watches. And from what we can see, this home-grown approach makes their watches some of the best available for the outdoor sports audience on the market today and worthy of comparison with some of the World's top watch brands. They take pride in using the best materials and components and have some nifty features that will get the gadget geeks excited, such as the Swiss self-powered GTLS illumination, Swiss made movements and (coolest of all), Nite watches are recognised military quality products and some benefit from having an official NATO stock number. I know, we squealed a little with excitement when we read this too. All their watches are made with an ultra thick sapphire crystal, triple anti-reflective coating, making these time-pieces super strong for the outdoors types. Each watch in their collection comes with specific features and unique styles. Here are three of our favourites... Nite International MX10 212 Watch Review £199.95 The MX10-212 and its white polymer strap and dial will appeal to those looking for an all purpose style watch that can be worn with all colours. We think it has the sort of look comfortable in the sand or in the snow. We can picture style conscious surfer dudes or freestyle boarders and skiers donning this watch riding or posing around resort. This watch doesn't just look pretty, it's also packed with a high standard … Continue reading →

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

I hope you've had a good Easter holiday, it's been a good couple of days to relax, eat chocolate, catch up with the family and slowly come to the realisation that it's all back to normal tomorrow... However before we have to get back to the daily grind here are some videos from the past week that have caught my eye: If you're into your BMX you would have no doubt heard about the Simple Sessions in Estonia. They've happened every year for the past few years and each time they keep getting bigger and better and the riders from all over the world keep dropping bigger and bigger hammers. Check out these prime cuts over the next 45 seconds, madness >

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

Red Bull Metro Pipe

The contest was the brainchild of Sergio Layos, who worked with Red Bull to turn this busy Metro station into a unique BMX contest which played host to 15,000 spectators over the weekend. Red Bull's newest rider, Kriss Kyle, also managed to clinch 3rd place with his partner Jason Phelan. The station that is normally filled with screeching trains and scurrying commuters was filled with the more natural screeching of the enthusiastic crowd that cheered on the 10 participating pairs through an incredible show on the challenging BMX track. Spain's David ‘Naran’ Peñafiel and Czech Michael Beran pulled off the victory with outstanding technique and style with Naran scoring with a Backflip Superman and Beran superbly nailing a Flair Tailwhip and Wallride Tailwhip. Coming second were Spain's Perico and Alistair Whitton of the United States while Brits Kris Kyle and Jason Phelan took third. Click the image below to check out the video... Be sure to check out this article by Albion contributor George Marshall who documented how difficult it was to get to this spot and how cool it is that Red Bull were able to secure such an awesome place for a contest.

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

Lakai are a skate shoe brand who've been making sneaks for at least 10 years (that I know of) and I've had a couple of pairs myself - I'd totally recommend them. Check out their new commercial for the Brandon Biebel 3 shoe available now! Now, adverts and trailers out the way it's time for the main events. As promised this week's round up is amazing, some of the best and most exciting riding I've seen in a while coming from some of my favorite companies and riders in BMX. First up is BSD Bikes' new trailer for their up and coming DVD "Any Which Way" which was premiered last night at the Simple Sessions in Estonia. Check out the trailer below and order your copy for FREE through any good BSD dealer. Next up from the guys behind PubBMX, Jason Phelan has put together this web edit and all I can say is it's ridiculous. The riding is amazing, featuring Jason, Kris Kyle and friends. Unit23 is the best indoor park in the UK and the music makes me want to go out and get on my bike.. which I may just do but not after you watch the last video. Eight months in the making and we are here. I heard about this video getting filmed a … Continue reading →

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

I've been as busy as a bee the past two weeks working my main jobs which is photography and camera assisting in the world of TV and Film. Next week I'm working on my first 3D shoot for Sky TV, tis going to be interesting and challenging, can't blooming wait! But enough about my reasons for being slack and on with this week's FVF: Kicking it off this webisode is good friend Ben Basford who rides for Kink Bikes in the UK. Ben is s sick rider with amazing park and street skills an is always putting out good quality web edits. This edit however pushes the bar up another level, something I like to describe as "all killer, no filler". Ben and Archetype BMX have worked solid over the past four months getting the best clips for this edit, they've worked damn hard and it shows > The next video is short but sweet. Coming in at just over a minute long and filmed in the classic, but not used that often, black and white setting on the camera. I really like the simplicity of this edit. Chilled music, great riding and well thought out angles for the filming. Sean Ricany doing it for Group Home Bikes > In one of my previous blog posts, 'Four Videos Friday - Tea's on it's cold outside!' I'd reported about a feature Seventies Distribution had been working on. This new release of bike shoes is no exception. In fact, some might say they're the sexiest products they've released to date. The Pinner was recently featured in top bike magazine Bike Radar. They give the shoe a glowing 4.5 stars out of 5, and say “Teva’s Pinner is exceptionally comfortable and seriously sticky but it blends into civilian life without drawing attention.” The grip is due to Teva’s Spider365 rubber, developed specifically to stick like glue regardless of the terrain or weather. And it's true, these trainers look cool and you can stick out as much or as little as you want. Try the Links style for a more colourful statement. The blue, yellow and light grey bestsellers were designed in collaboration with legendary mountain bike rider Jeff Lenowsky and look the nuts. For more of a toned down style, they’re also available in the classic turquoise and yellow Lunar Rock or in the new shade for spring, Ultra Violet. Check out the colour ranges below. Compare and buy the Men's Pinner or check them out in action at the Winter Teva Mountain Games. Have a pair already? Let us know what you think of the new range from Teva.

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

Skis can be strapped in diagonally and a snowboard vertically, using a harness system that is really easy to use and completely secure, giving the rucksack a really comfortable, non-obtrusive feel when it's on with extra gear pinned to it. With 20L you've got plenty of room to stash all your extra layers, avalanche kit, snacks, wallet, music players, sunglasses and more. It's so roomy in fact, you could take a change of clothes for apres-ski or extra beer for everyone for a late afternoon hillside drink. There's a great pouch in the main compartment able to carry a hydration system, which can be strapped in over the left shoulder, or the pouch can be used for carrying up to 15" laptops (making this a great travel bag too) . The front compartment has multi-functional organiser pockets. There's even a fleece lined goggles compartment on top, which we found great for carrying spare Goggles for different light during the day. We tested this bag for all its functions and found it to be light weight (only 2lbs - 9kg empty), comfortable, hard wearing and practical. It also looks the shit in situ, check out the pictures below. You can carry almost anything weather it's strapped in or hidden inside.
