I cannot say enough good things about the 2012 Atomic Crimson Ti Titanium Skis since my discovery of them this season. The new movement in skis is towards what's called the 'One Ski Quiver' and it'll be interesting to see what's available for the 2013 season. One Ski Quiver is the new term given to a few skis now on the market that a handful of brands are releasing, claiming to be truly capable of containing a multiple set of characteristics from a variety of skis built for different skiing conditions. Pah! you cry....and so did we when we heard about this new type of ski. Surely it's not possible?! Many all-mountain skis have, for years, attempted to give us a ski that can hold itself in any condition on any terrain, and some have come quite close - but it's always come with compromises. The Rossignol Backcountry S (my ski of choice for a long while) was, in my opinion, the closest. But they are still crap on ice and short turns require a lot more push in the legs to get into a rhythm on the piste and there's just always a bit of bite missing. All these commonly known compromises with the top all-mountain skis now seems to be a thing of the past - and oh how thrilled we are. The Atomic Crimson have the usual all-mountain wider ski … Continue reading →

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

They design, manufacture and distribute their own unique make of watches. And from what we can see, this home-grown approach makes their watches some of the best available for the outdoor sports audience on the market today and worthy of comparison with some of the World's top watch brands. They take pride in using the best materials and components and have some nifty features that will get the gadget geeks excited, such as the Swiss self-powered GTLS illumination, Swiss made movements and (coolest of all), Nite watches are recognised military quality products and some benefit from having an official NATO stock number. I know, we squealed a little with excitement when we read this too. All their watches are made with an ultra thick sapphire crystal, triple anti-reflective coating, making these time-pieces super strong for the outdoors types. Each watch in their collection comes with specific features and unique styles. Here are three of our favourites... Nite International MX10 212 Watch Review £199.95 The MX10-212 and its white polymer strap and dial will appeal to those looking for an all purpose style watch that can be worn with all colours. We think it has the sort of look comfortable in the sand or in the snow. We can picture style conscious surfer dudes or freestyle boarders and skiers donning this watch riding or posing around resort. This watch doesn't just look pretty, it's also packed with a high standard … Continue reading →

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

This new release of bike shoes is no exception. In fact, some might say they're the sexiest products they've released to date. The Pinner was recently featured in top bike magazine Bike Radar. They give the shoe a glowing 4.5 stars out of 5, and say “Teva’s Pinner is exceptionally comfortable and seriously sticky but it blends into civilian life without drawing attention.” The grip is due to Teva’s Spider365 rubber, developed specifically to stick like glue regardless of the terrain or weather. And it's true, these trainers look cool and you can stick out as much or as little as you want. Try the Links style for a more colourful statement. The blue, yellow and light grey bestsellers were designed in collaboration with legendary mountain bike rider Jeff Lenowsky and look the nuts. For more of a toned down style, they’re also available in the classic turquoise and yellow Lunar Rock or in the new shade for spring, Ultra Violet. Check out the colour ranges below. Compare and buy the Men's Pinner or check them out in action at the Winter Teva Mountain Games. Have a pair already? Let us know what you think of the new range from Teva.

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

Skis can be strapped in diagonally and a snowboard vertically, using a harness system that is really easy to use and completely secure, giving the rucksack a really comfortable, non-obtrusive feel when it's on with extra gear pinned to it. With 20L you've got plenty of room to stash all your extra layers, avalanche kit, snacks, wallet, music players, sunglasses and more. It's so roomy in fact, you could take a change of clothes for apres-ski or extra beer for everyone for a late afternoon hillside drink. There's a great pouch in the main compartment able to carry a hydration system, which can be strapped in over the left shoulder, or the pouch can be used for carrying up to 15" laptops (making this a great travel bag too) . The front compartment has multi-functional organiser pockets. There's even a fleece lined goggles compartment on top, which we found great for carrying spare Goggles for different light during the day. We tested this bag for all its functions and found it to be light weight (only 2lbs - 9kg empty), comfortable, hard wearing and practical. It also looks the shit in situ, check out the pictures below. You can carry almost anything weather it's strapped in or hidden inside. Women's Ski Boot 2012 Review

Farewell to My Old Trusty Friends. Hello Krypton Kryzma's! After years of skiing with my trusty Salomon X Wave Sensifit Ski Boots (so old I can't even find a picture of them), I knew I needed to upgrade. Boot technology has moved on significantly in the last five years, but really, when it came down to it, I'd skied two winter seasons with these boots and countless holidays. And, like an old but trusted and loved horse, they were beginning to fail in their duties. I found a new friend in the Dalbello Krypton Kryzma I.D. Women's Ski Boots. Here's my story of the complete custom fitting I had and a review of their performance over eight days of skiing. Buying 'Instruments of Torture' Is Never Fun Buying ski boots is a pain in the arse and an expensive one at that. Get it wrong and you've probably just wasted a few hundred on a purchase you can't exchange. Everyone knows it, and I knew that this was the reason I'd been putting off exchanging my now comfy, but packed out and tired, X Waves for so long. But this year I bit the bullet. My boots were so finished I might as well have been wearing slippers. So, I went on the hunt. What Boot and From Where? Now, Dalbello have been creating quite a storm with their boots of late. And as one friend put it to me 'all the ski instructors are wearing them'. Whilst that's not … Continue reading →

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

We've heard a lot about Switchback Bindings for a while now but finally we're getting a look at them. Swicthback bindings have finally been unveiled and bring a modular approach to the game. You decide what parts of the binding you want to keep in your setup and which you don't. You can mix and match colours and put it all together in just a few minutes without the need for any fiddly tools - well apart from attaching them to the board, but still that's an unbelievable offering to the market. One of the coolest things about Switchback Bindings is that they now make it possible for everyone to experience and enjoy no-back riding. You can switch out your highbacks for their no-back insert in just a few seconds and switch back again in minutes. Meaning you can switch between riding hard on the pistes and kickers and switch it up to have a more skater feel in some pow and on cruising jib lines. Instead of having to buy a complete setup in a certain colorway. You can now customize your own. Don’t want forward lean? Don’t pay for it! All of Switchback's components fit their baseplate so no need to worry there. And don’t be fooled by the slick look of these babies, Switchback bindings are packed with smart features like: Tool-less footpad adjustment – Smart basepad that gives you cushioning where you want it but precision … Continue reading →

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

Stradalli Cycle Launch New Road Bike Sorrento SLR

Stradalli Cycle, the high performance carbon bicycle manufacturer from Florida, has just launched its newest full carbon road bike – the Sorrento SLR. Redesigned for 2012, the Stradalli Sorrento SLR offers performance and quality at an outstanding price. The new bike claims to offer better handling, better control and better performance thanks to its new stiffer and lighter headtube. The tried and tested frame, which is made from 100% 3K carbon fiber, is used by multiple Pro race teams. Meaning that Sorrento SLR owners will get a world class carbon fiber race bike for the price of an aluminium road bicycle. Not bad. The high-modulus carbon has a tensile strength of 50 tons per square cm. This allows Stradalli to build a light, yet stiff frame, which includes a curved aero wind shelter for the rear wheel giving lower wind drag. “The all new 2012 Stradalli Sorrento SLR is the most affordable bike we have ever made,” said Thomas Steinbacher of Stradalli. “But we refuse to cut corners on quality, which is why the Sorrento SLR comes with a full SRAM 10 speed group and Stradalli aluminium wheels.” As one of the most advanced full carbon road bikes on the market the Stradalli Sorrento SLR offers incredible value for money. With its full carbon fiber frame, SRAM group and exceptional wheelset, this is a pretty good price for this kind of bike. Check out this bike and more at their website http://www.stradalli.com We're waiting for this bike to start … Continue reading →

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

ARIS Sport has released a skateboard with their new conical wheel design. The new design is apparently better for carving; curved wheels allow the skateboard deck to roll at extreme angles, allowing the rider to cut sharp right and left turns while maintaining balance and control of the skateboard even at low speeds and flat ground. The company has launched their project on the Kickstarter website, if you would like to support the project and receive a Blade Runner Skateboard please visit: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/aris/aris-sport-we-have-reinvented-the-wheel?ref=recently_launched Also, make sure to see this baby in action...

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports

Two New Action Sports Brand Ambassadors for DEFLEXION Technology

DEFLEXION™ technology from Dow Corning is teaming up with action sports athletes Xavier de le Rue and Matt Crowhurst to demonstrate how DEFLEXION™ technology can be used by impact protection apparel designers to create tailored, customized impact protection gear for action sports athletes. DEFLEXION™ technology, a patent-pending silicone-based impact protection textile, will be incorporated into impact protection apparel specifically designed and customized for Xavier's and Matt's specific needs - very nice. Apparently both athletes will be involved in the design of their gear from start to finish, helping to select and position the right combination of materials from the DEFLEXION™ product range, which is pretty cool. We wonder if that means design too? DEFLEXION™ technology claims to be breathable and flexible, giving athletes the freedom of movement and comfort they need, without compromising on the level of impact protection provided. What sounds cool about DEFLEXION™ materials is that they are designed to provide impact protection in all conditions whether hot, cold or wet, and remain flexible. They materials can apparently also be easily cut into different shapes, built up in layers and applied exactly where impact protection is required - which makes sense to us considering all other outdoors gear is customisable and has been for a long time. We're particularly keen to see this stuff in action on Xavier, who is successful competitive snowboarder, who has won multiple Free Ride World Championship™ titles, Snowboard Cross World Championship™ titles and X Games™ gold medals. New bindings by Now Snowboarding that are set to be game changers have just been revealed by JF Pelchat. The feedback has been amazing so far on account that the bindings apparently move more with your feet than with the board. This enables more feel for the flex in the snowboard, imitating the edging more familiar to a skateboarder. Some sort of axel that allows pivoting like a skateboard truck in the center seems to be the key to all the fuss, but check out the vid to see for yourself. We can't wait to try them!

Chasingair.com - Price Comparison for Outdoor & Extreme Sports
